From June 8 to 12, the Ukrainian Centre was filled with exciting summer camp adventures. Fourteen of our youngest travellers, aged 6–9, embarked on an interactive journey around the world aboard an imaginary train, where each day’s “ticket” was a different colour of clothing. Every day of the camp brought new knowledge, unforgettable experiences, and discoveries about English-speaking countries.
The programme was packed with activities. Each morning began with an English-language warm-up and interactive lessons, followed by exciting quests, board games, and outdoor activities. Combining active recreation with language learning, the children created their own “Traveller’s Passports,” packed an interactive English-language suitcase, and even immersed themselves in the world of British royal etiquette by making their own crowns.
As the journey continued, the children transformed into real pirates aboard the Black Pearl, crafted Australian boomerangs, and tested them outdoors. Creative workshops and relaxing art therapy sessions helped maintain a joyful atmosphere and strengthened friendships throughout the week.
The highlight of the camp was a special excursion to the educational tourist attraction Rancho-Pancho. There, the children discovered how cowboys and Indigenous peoples lived in North America, happily fed alpacas, rabbits, squirrels, and a donkey, enjoyed a themed outdoor lunch, and had plenty of fun together.
After returning from the ranch, the children joined the celebration of the Ukrainian Centre’s Birthday. They had the incredible honour of personally meeting the President of the Republic of Lithuania, the First Lady of Lithuania — the Centre’s patron — and the Ambassador of Ukraine. As a token of gratitude, the children prepared an energetic dance flash mob that soon brought all the guests together. Watching a heartwarming video of the camp’s daily adventures, enjoying the festive greetings, and sharing birthday cake created unforgettable memories for the children, their families, and the entire community.
