One of the key priorities of our work is to create a space where every Ukrainian family can feel a connection to their homeland and the support of those around them. On the eve of Christmas, this sense of unity becomes especially meaningful. We come together not only to remember traditions, but to truly live them — helping both children and adults experience the beauty and depth of our culture, even far from home.
This year, Christmas filled our Ukrainian Center with a special atmosphere of joy, sincere smiles, and a true sense of wonder that we created together. The highlight of the celebration was the concert “Christmas Star”, where tender and joyful Christmas melodies warmed the hearts of the audience, creating a feeling of family comfort and spiritual unity.
A special charm and many genuine smiles were brought by the tradition of „Malanka“. This vibrant custom allowed guests to feel the true energy and lively spirit of Ukrainian festivities. Bright costumes, traditional humour, and songs immersed everyone in customs that continue to live on and unite us, even far from home.
A particularly meaningful part of the event was our annual initiative “Bring a drawing — receive a gift.” Our youngest visitors prepared heartfelt letters and drawings for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, sharing a piece of their warmth with those defending our country.
In return for their sincerity, the children received real Christmas treasures:
- Delicious sweets
- Engaging board games
- Interesting books
Throughout the day, every guest could find something to enjoy:
- The children’s workshop became a space of creativity and joy, where little ones created their own Christmas decorations.
- The interactive zone for children and adults offered engaging activities, while a magician’s performance added a touch of real magic and delighted the audience.
- The Christmas fair enchanted visitors with the aromas of festive treats and unique handmade crafts — perfect gifts for loved ones.
- A festive photo zone preserved warm memories of the day in photographs that will continue to warm our families throughout the coming year.
We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible volunteers. Your work, time, and energy are the foundation of our community. Without your dedication, this celebration would not have been possible. Once again, you have shown that together we can create something truly magical.
